The collection system Data Steward is responsible for the management and fitness of clinical and billing data that flows into our operational systems from multiple provider EHR/EMR/RIS systems.  This position plays a key role in our data management, clinical quality, and revenue cycle processes.  The successful candidate will operate on the frontlines of data management working with both our integrations teammates and health system EHR support personnel.  They will build relationships and create processes to identify and define data requirements and monitor and manage data quality.

The person in this role will be a SME and the primary data steward for the Billing Systems domain. You will work closely with and across functional teams to ensure availability and data alignment with defined metadata. You will investigate and research data and information issues identified by others and implement solutions.


• Initiate and lead data discovery meetings with client healthcare entities to discover, document, and validate HL7 metadata and code sets
• Closely interact with integrations and billing teams to provide subject matter expert services
• Automate and perform necessary data quality activities: edit, append, augment, cleanse
• Identify, analyze and resolve data issues, related to uniqueness, integrity, accuracy, consistency and completeness
• Provide support for billing system audit activities
• Establish and enforce data governance process
• Define and document subject area data and metadata
• Establish and maintain data dictionary
• Enable growth by streamlining new practice and healthcare entity data integrations 
•  Interface with clients and vendors to govern fact, data, and information quality





• Bachelor’s degree in Information Sciences, Computer Science or equivalent preferred
• Experience and knowledge of data life-cycle management principles, methodologies and tools
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills with excellent attention to details and a passion for organization and accuracy
• Demonstrated responsiveness to customer needs
• Aptitude for accurately manipulating large amounts of data
• High personal motivation, self-management, and detail-orientation
• Strong relationship building and communication skills 
•  3-5 years of data management experience working with relational databases and SQL required
• 3-5 years of related revenue cycle or clinical data management experience desired
• Experience collecting and managing healthcare related data assets desired 
• Working knowledge of HL7 and EHR/EMR highly desired
• Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office Products including Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Familiarity with project management tools and process
