Position Description 

The Role: We are seeking a Data Steward in the General Fundamentals Dataset. As a steward, you are the content team’s advocate for the dataset to the business and your main focus is to develop strategies to meet business needs. The role requires an ability to work in a highly collaborative environment with all levels of employees, including the senior leadership team within the content organization. As the Data Steward you are passionate about adopting a client-focused lens in the successful formation and execution of business strategies. You will work within a cross-functional team including Stewardship Leads, Operations Managers, Product, Sales, Technology and Marketing.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Craft and implement business and operational strategies based on organization goals and client/business needs

  • Partner with Operations Leadership to set and / or approve policies around data ingestion and data feed management

  • Build or fulfill reporting mechanisms and forums to educate and inform business partners

  • Uncover opportunities for scalable, sustainable, and lean methodologies for data management

  • Partner with Product and Sales organizations to develop a client-focused data strategy

  • Build and implement data critical metrics in collaboration with Operations Leads to achieve them

  • Organize and champion your dataset in project review and prioritization processes with senior level management

  • Own and lead data integration programs among new and acquired datasets

  • In-depth understanding of data collection workflows

  • Identify opportunities for continual improvements in both the delivery platform and operational performance and associated solutions

  • Monitor and analyze inbound content to aid in the development of various product lines

As the lead data steward, you have the opportunity to set the bar for excellence.


  • 5+ years of work experience including data management in a financial market data intensive environment

  • Experience with third party data feeds management and data integration is preferred

  • Keen sense of urgency and focus on client delivery and happiness

  • Demonstrable leadership in project management

  • Attested ownership in developing, leading, and delivering on large scale strategic projects and initiatives

  • Shown ability to articulate ideas and gain consensus across varying levels within an organization

  • Referenceable history of successful change management

  • BS degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Systems Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience

  • Master’s degree and/or CFA charter-holder preferred
