Job Description: 


The Data Steward plays a key role in leading IIE's high standards for data competency, accuracy and reporting. The position explores and recommends data architecture models to best support IIE's business operations and mission including the management of IIE's overall data dictionary. This individual is responsible for establishing requirements and assessing the quality of the data within our organization. This individual is also responsible for supporting IIE's data standards efforts.



Essential Functions:

  • Manages the overall IIE data dictionary including development, revision, dissemination, training and user adoption. This includes data naming standards, definitions, standard values, data business and validation rules. 
  • Develops and manages data quality reports and processes to improve accuracy and align with IIE's long-term strategy and internal operations. This includes best practices for tracking and resolving data quality issues. 
  • Defines and implements a data management strategy, thought leadership in advanced data techniques (data modeling, data integration, data visualization, data discovery and database design/implementation) that is aligned with IIE's long-term goals. Creates and maintains conceptual, logical and physical data models defining information requirements for management and business intelligence purposes. 
  • Manages and implements data archival and expiry processes. Follows data security protocols and standards. 
  • Acts as a resource for team member training and questions related to data and reporting. 
  • Defines and communicates business rules and terms governing use of data, including security and data life-cycle management. 
  • Manages and implements the process for mass data imports into core IIE systems, and mass data-cleansing initiatives, ensuring the integrity and eliminating redundancy from corporate databases. 


 

 

Job Requirements: 


Education and Experience:

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in order to apply a working knowledge of the theories and principles in a specialized field or work discipline.
  • Requires at least fiveyears of related work experience.



Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Experience managing and analyzing data, including understanding of Cloud data integration and management
  • Experience with meta-data management, data controls, data provisioning and data quality concepts
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced expert familiarity with querying and reporting tools
  • Demonstrated knowledge of data analytics, structure, data tools and related software and data management policies and practices in a complex organizational environment
  • Excellent understanding of, and experience with, server-client computing and relational database environments
  • In-depth experience with data management and data processing flowcharting techniques
